Appshopper.com is one of the thousands of iPhone App review sites that sprung up in the market in response to the official App Store’s stunning growth.  Let’s see how this iPhone index stands up to Dozen’s review team.

What is the range of Iphone apps available on this site? This parameter evaluates the overall choice of apps available and gives extra points for any innovative techniques or categories..
Strange!!
On the one hand, hundreds of thousands of apps are listed on the site, but we are extremely skeptical of where they come from and how they got there.  At last count, they offered 197,459 different iPhone apps.

How easy is it to navigate around the site? We tried and tested it out and graded..
You would think that incorporating a functional search bar would be a priority for a site that boasts almost 200k apps, but apparently Appshopper.com feels differently.

Can we see a screenshot or preview of the Iphone app? If so, how many and how good is the screenshot quality?.
Each app has between 2 and 4 screenshots listed, but upon closer inspection, we realized that these screenshots are simply lifted from the official iTunes App Store.

Why is it different to other iphone apps websites? We graded on originality and innovation..
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that when the Apple App Store exploded, hundreds of second and third rate blogs and review sites would try to find a way to capitalize on this new market.  Appshopper.com is just another drop in the ocean of meaningless review sites.

Can you contact the site with queries? This grades the email support and telephone contacts available to users..
We couldn’t find an email address or contact information for anyone listed on the site, which makes us extremely cautious about using Appshopper.com to get apps for iPhone.

How interactive is this site? Is there a Facebook Group? Twitter? RSS feeds? Linked In? Forum? We found out..
The RSS feed is nothing but a spam feed that has every single post showing up multiple times in our feed reader.  Not a good sign.  In addition, we found no user comments or reviews, so we couldn’t tell which iphone apps were ‘flops’ and which were ‘tops.’

Ok, how good are the Iphone descriptions and content about these apps? Is there too much info or too little? Is the language easy to follow or boring technical jargon?.
The apps we checked had poor descriptions riddled with spelling errors.  The ones that didn’t seemed to be lifted straight from the iTunes App Store.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with video, HD, multiplayer options, mobile, music makers and audio options..
Multimedia options?  You’d best look somewhere else for any videos or other multimedia describing the apps on this site.
