Flight Aware is an iPhone travel app that promises immediate, up to date, flight info for both commercial and private flights.  It offers a stunning visual map of flight paths, taken from actual real time flight data.

How useful is this app? Will it save me time shopping, cooking, travelling or anything else? We graded on functionality..

While we can’t say that using this app means you will never get stuck at the airport again, having an up-to-date flight tracking system that fits in your pocket certainly couldn’t hurt.

Ok, how much fun can you have on this site? Does it offer iPhone games, competitions, interactive chat rooms, picture sharing or feature cool animations? We played then graded..

The flight tracking aspect of Flight Aware isn’t much fun to play with, but we really enjoyed the visual flight path feature.  It’s amazing to see just how many planes are in the sky at any given moment over the U.S.

Can we see a screenshot or preview of the Iphone app? If so, how many and how good is the screenshot quality?.

The screenshots of the app don’t do it justice, but at least they provide a clear and easy to understand guideline to how the app works.

What else can I do here? We gave extra points to sites with video, HD, multiplayer options, mobile, music makers and audio options..

YouTube is chock-full of great Flight Aware videos, including the unbelievable story of the flight that overshot the airport by 150 miles because the pilots were having an argument in the cockpit!

Flight Aware brings a much needed service to frequent travelers who find themselves without any means to check on their flight status.  This iPhone travel app is a must buy for anyone who flies often.
